The UNESCO World and Copyright day takes place each year on 23 April. The day is "a celebration to promote the enjoyment of books and reading". Since 2017, NSF(UK), working in partnership with ChiYoWo,a Nigerian based NGO, has donated over 3,600 recycled books it collected from the UK, to underserved communities across the 6 geopolitical zones in Nigeria.

The NSF(UK) book-drive team , ChiYoWo, and volunteers spent Saturday, 26 January at a warehouse in London, processing the books collected to be delivered to Nigeria for this year’s UNESCO World and Copyright day. Over 1,200 books covering ages 4-18 were processed on the day and will be delivered to communities largely dependent on scarce Nigerian government resources.

Later in the year NSF(UK) will announce plans for its book drive 2020 campaign on its social media platforms. We hope you can continue to help us promote"the enjoyment of books and reading" in Nigeria.

NSF(UK) remains grateful to all involved , including the book donors, the donors of the free; transportation, storage facilities and the shipment service to Nigeria.
